Notes for Karl "Barney" KERR: 1910-1911 - Victor "Quasquicentennial 1868-1993" book lists "Emily L. Kerr, News" in its description of the town at that time. Karl Kerr is listed as a carpenter.
The 1925 Iowa state census shows him in Victor, Iowa County, living with his sister Ethel and his three daughters. He is living next to or in the same household as the Lawlor family, his wife's maiden name.
His mother's obituary from 1928 states he lived in Victor at that time.
I have his obit, which tells that he lived at 2815 W. 70th St., Davenport, Iowa, when he died. He died at home, and services were at the Lady of Victory Church in Davenport. He was buried at Calvary Cemetery, Victor, Iowa. He was born in Victor, married Sarah Lawlor in Davenport in 1910. She preceded him in death.
He was a contractor and builder in Victor and retired 15 years before he died. He built most of the churches in town. He lived in Davenport for only the last four years of his life. He was a veteran of the Spanish-American War. He had two daughter, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren. Only his brother, Harvey, of West Liberty and sister, Mrs. Flora Grant, of Lusk Wyoming, survived him.
