User Home Pages: Hansens and Lillingstons in Australia
Hansen and Lillingston are just two of the families I am researching at present. I am also looking for information on the Houston, Hailstone, Rundle and Norman families. All of them, except for the Hansens, immigrated to Australia in the mid 1900's from the British Isles. Jacob Hansen however immigrated to Adelaide from Horsens in Jutland, Denmark in 1878 on board the Glenaros. I would be most grateful for any information relating to any of these surnames .. every little bit helps! Daniel Lillingston arrived alone in 1842 as a guard on a convict ship. The Houston family arrived in 1851 aboard the ship Sir Thomas Gresham. The Hailstone family had a more traumatic arrival being shipwrecked close to their destination when their ship, the Marion ran aground west of Adelaide, South Australia in 1849. The Rundles and Normans I don't know about at all. | Hansens and Lillingstons in Australia Updated September 5, 2000 |
