Note: Name Suffix: Sr. In 1772 wit sale of land from Andrew to David Mills in Pitt Sold land in Pitt, NC in 1798. 1803-witness to selling of land by Isaac Carrell Jr. in Pitt Arrived in Horry about 1805. Will of 1827: William Hardee, administrator; Son, Isaac; Others listed: Amy Harris, John Hardee, Calvin Hardee. Enlisted in Rev. in Pitt in 1776 pensioner no. W.9054. Received $60 per year. 28 nov 1808: Horry land grants: 400 acres on Simpson Creek on NW side of Waccamaw R bd by John Parker, Andrew Hardy and Thomas Ready. 30 oct 1812: listed as neighbor of John Brinson. Land on Kingston Lake Swamp and WHite Oak Swamp. Joseph Hardee is also listed as neighbor. 16 mar 1816: listed as neighbor of Richard Singleton, land on Kingston Lake NW side of Waccamaw R. Found in 1810, 1820 Horry Census. Ann is found in 1830 HOrry. ??In 1821, a WIlliam Hardee, along with J. Melvin Cox and william Edward Gore started the Buck Creek Baptist Church in Ruth, SC. In 1821 applied for REv. war pension "William, Nancy, age 65, april 1821, wife aged 64, wido w applied on 6 jan 1844, age 88. Married 2 apr 1776 in Pitt Wiliam died 18 aug 1827. Had br other named Andrew age 67 in 1844, resident of Horry. Says he enlisted for one year on May 3 , 1776 in Cap Redin Blunt's company and Co. Buncombe. Discharged on 3 may 1777 in Halifax, N C. Affidavits included Joseph Hardee, Averill Hardee, Thomas Wallace. Affidavit on 6 Jan 1844 says Nancy in now 88 on 2 may last. He served in army for 3 months a fter marriage. THey moved to Horry in 1805. Affidavit on 1 jan 1844 of Andrew Hardee age 67 says he is brother of William. He says tha t William and Nancy and William's oldest children were all born in NC. One child was born o n the day Gates was defeated. One child is a clergyman and lives in neighborhood. Also stat ed that William's oldest child was the same age as he was (67). Affidavit on 13 mar 1819 of Averilla Hardee, mother of William, the soldier, says he enlisted in the 5th NC regiment. Affidavit of 15 jun 1844 of Mrs. Elizabeth Mills of Pike Co, ALA says she saw William Hardee and Nancy Stocks married on 2 apr 1776. Affidavit of 6 jan 1844 of Amy Harris dau of William Hardee says that she was 64 in August la st. Affidavit of 13 mar 1819 of Joseph Hardee says he is brother of William Hardee of Horry. Affidavit of 12 april 1844 of Peter Vaught says William and Nancey came to Horry in 1804 or 1 805 from Pitt, North Carolina and lived near William's Father (Joann Fairbourn (lfairb@aol.com)
