Published: June 3, 1998 SOLOMON KERNERSVILLE -- Mr. Francis Darwin Solomon, 60, of 3875 Kernersville Road, died Monday, June 1, 1998, at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Solomon was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he studied drama and went on to live and work in New York and California. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, June 4, 1998 at the Oaklawn Baptist Church by Rev. Paul Riggs and Rev. Talmadge Solomon. After careful consideration by Darwin's surviving family members, as well as his fellow UNC Chapel Hill Playmaker Alumni, it was agreed by all that Darwin was and will always be a follower of David rather than Goliath, despite his fondness for his days at Chapel Hill. To this end, a fund has been established in Darwin's name and memory at the North Carolina School of the Arts. Donations may be made to the F. Darwin Solomon Endowment, c/o North Carolina School of the Arts, 1533 South Main Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27127-2188. Please make checks payable to ''NCSA Foundation, Inc.'' and note on the check ''for FDS endowment only.'' |
