Find Family
I am following the family of Arthur Harris (1610-1674) who came from Devon, England around 1630 (or later), married Martha (Winslow)(her last name is quite debatable)(1609-1699)(Some say Martha Lake, but this is clearly wrong)and lived in Duxbury, Bridgewater and then Boston, Mass. There are about ten generations that hold my interest
.........
Isaac Harris (1642-1707) mar Mercy Latham (1650-1698?), a descendant of Mary Chilton of the Mayflower, and (perhaps)a descendant of Edward III, King of England through John Of Gaunt's third wife. Regretably these descendants are excluded from inheriting the throne.
........
Samuel Harris (1683-1731) mar Abigail (Harden)Harding (1687-1731)
........
Samuel Harris (1728-1801) mar Sarah Cooke (1729-1809), another Mayflower descendant. Samuel fought at the seige of Louisbourg in 1758, and then moved, with his family to Annapolis, Nova Scotia in 1760.
........
Samuel Harris (1763-1834) mar Elizabeth Jefferson (1779-1845).
........
Robert Jefferson Harris (1813-1888) mar Rebecca Ditmars (1823-1907)
........
Ernest A. Harris (1846-1923) mar Mary Eliza Wheelock (1844-1929)
........
Arthur W. Harris (1871-1941) mar Bessie Trask (1871-1919), yet another Mayflower descendant.
.........
