I am researching my Greek and German relatives on my father's side of the family. The Greek side is Nichols, shortened from possibly Nicolopoulos. There was a relative by the name of Pappas, on the Greek side. Both arrived in St. Louis about 1922 and they both died in St. Louis. They might have lived in Western Iowa prior to moving to St. Louis. My grandfather (Nichols) owned restaurants in St. Louis and the Pappas relative was a shoeworker.My grandmother's relatives had the names of Beckmann and Buschmann. They came over from Westfalan, Germany, and settled in Arkansas around 1910. Many of them moved to St. Louis, MO.I welcome any information that might lead me to my relatives, especially my Greek relatives. |
