| We plan to get together again with the Thompson Harris family the third weekend in Oct. on Friday and Saturday then attend the John W. Harris reunion on Sunday at Liberty Church. Lets meet AT SUE FRYE'S HAPPY ACRES CAMPING RESORT, NEAR SCREVEN, GA. CONTACT ME FOR MORE INF. I'm not going to try to list all the surnames I have uncovered, there is a lot. Now to my research. On the Harris side I am back to Thompson Harris, Sr. my ggggGrandfather. He was born in 1725, I don't know where, but I find that a Thompson Harris of Orange Co. N.C. as the Grantor of 400ac. of land to William Heath in Bedford County, Va. located on both sides of Great Br. of Turpin Cr. Witt: William Lewis, John Layne, Joseph Williams. BOOK/PAGE1/107 Bedford Co. Va. That put him as a possable descendant of Major Robert Harris and Mary Claiborne Rice. He married Hannah Aiken before 1755, she was born in 1725. On my Mothers side the Godwins, I am back to Richard Godwin my ggggGrandfather. His wife's first name was Katherine, ? |
