Oral history given by my Grandfather Lawrence Harman Sr. is that Adam and Elizabeth (Lutz) Harman moved to Indiana from PA. Records indicate that they were married in Stark County, Ohio in 1848. My guess is that the two families were part of a group migration westward from PA, with a stop of a few years in Stark and Holmes Counties, Ohio, and a short residence of the newly-married Harman couple in DeKalb County, Indiana before settling near North Liberty in St. Joseph County, Indiana. I'd like to find the link back to the larger Harman family that includes lots of Adams, Henrys, etc., that originated in Pennsylvania and of course in Germany before that.
