I am researching my family's German origins. My great grandfather was William August Blank, born 9-29-1858. He came to the United States from Germany in 1833. He married Minnie Wilhelmina Wilhelm, born 11-20-1858 on 7-12-1878. They lived in the Michigan City (LaPorte county), Indiana area.
A second great grandfather was Henry T. Kieffer whose wife, Paulina was born 11-25-1863 in LaPorte county Indiana.

Also interested in finding information on another great grandfather, Elijah W. Shepherd who served with the Indiana Infantry in the Civil War.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
