Isom had thirteen children, one died at birth. They are William Davis ("W.D.", a minister), Julia (a minister), Beverly Milton, Fannie, Lula ("Lou"), Chelsea Lee ("C.L."), Evelyn ("Babe"), Isom Jr. ("Bud"), Washington, Lillie, Eula ("Hon"), and George. The last of these children was born in 1889.

Other surnames for female children are McKenzie, Holland, Jackson, Smith, and Thomas. Flagg and Avery were Isom's wives maiden names he was married to Georgia Ann Flagg and he was also married to Amanda Avery.
