Most of the Harritys in California are the descendants of two families; the Family of William Thomas Harrity (married Emma Crane) whose children were Henry, Blanche, Robert C. Harrity and William Harrity. My Father was John William Haines Harrity (married Genevieve Ferguson in San Francisco in 1925). My older brother, John William Harrity (married Dora Olivera) has 5 daugters, Colleen, Shawn, Shannon, Maureen and Kelly. I'm Robert Joseph Harrity (married Joanne Bernard) and I have 2 sons, Kevin Douglas Harrity and Christopher Harrity. My next younger brother, Richard Thomas Harrity (married Glenna Houx)has 1 daughter, Karen, and 4 sons, Timothy, Dennis, William Ross, and Terrence. My sister, Marie Eloise Harrity (married Edward McDonagh)has two daughters, Genevieve and Margaret, and a son, Patrick. My younger brother, James Michael Harrity married his wife Dar 2 years ago -- no issue. My grandmother Gabrielle Harrity (married John Haines) was born in Hudson WI. My great Grandfather, Henry Harrity (married Catherine Jane O'Neil) was born in New York as was his wife. Catherine's parents were Patrick O'Neil and Ann Glancy, both born in Ireland. Their children included Henry (Harry), Alice Jane (Sister Ernesta), William Thomas, John Patrick, Eloise Margaret, Teresa, Ann, Gabrielle, Blanche (and by adoption my father). Most of these children were born in Hudson WI or St. Paul MN. In the 1880 census for Hudson WI, there is another Harrity family listed Alice Wallace Harrity ( she is my great great grandmother, wife of Martin Harrity) and five sons (brothers of my great grandfather), Anthony, Martin, John, Thomas and Arthur. Martin Harrity and his wife (Alice Wallace) were both born in Ireland. Any information from enquiring Harritys is welcome. |
