I am just beginning research on my own family and my husband's. Jack's ancestors are from Ireland. The earliest information we have is on Ralph Harrison, b.1837 in England and his wife Ellen Williams, b. 10-22-1846 in Wales. We know that Jack's paternal great-grandfather was Thomas Conlon of County Roscommon, Ireland, who married Maria Flood. Thomas's mother's maiden name was Farrell. His paternal ancestors are Elgins and Thompsons from Fulton County, Illinois. Isaac Elgin and his wife, Lucinda Beach were his great-grandparents.
I can trace my Wellbaum ancestry to 1631. I am looking for ancestors of George Urich, b. 1828, Matilda Loy , 1838-1896; John Ryder, d. 1929, all of Ohio, probably Montgomery County. On the maternal side, I need information about ancestors of Joseph Ritter, b. 1847 and Nancy Alice Samuels, b. 1851 in Iowa, d. 1933 in Ohio. Any information about ancestors of Emil Christian Hobusch, b. 1853 in Cincinnati, Ohio, d. 1920 in Miamisburg, Ohio and his wife Mary Elissa b. 1857, d. 1926 would be appreciated. His family came from Germany as a child; one of his brothers was born aboard ship. I'm not sure if Elissa is her maiden or middle name. Their children were Bertha (Pease), Alexander, Ida (Eagle), Ann (Schuster), Emily (m Jim Black), Emil, Amanda (m. Warren Logan), Clara (m. Fred Koebel),and Hulda (m Fred DeWeese).
We will be happy to share any information we have. We would also appreciate any information anyone has on our families. I know there are a lot of Hobusch's out there and hope some of them have more family knowledge than I.
