We are searching for two Harrison men who emigrated to USA circa 1850/86 from the Bellshill, Motherwell and the Law, Carluke area of Scotland. They are as follows :James Harrison b. Bellshill, Occptn. Miner. Married in USA with 2 children.Samual Harrison b. Biggans, 18 yrs. old in 1886, Single and lived with James in USA. Their father was Alexander Harrison b.1824 in Kilmarnock. d.1870 in Biggans age 46 yrs. Occptn. Mine Laberour. Their mother was Agnes Harrison (nee Arnott) who died in the Motherwell Poorhouse June 15th. 1886. Partially destitute. There were 2 older brothers, John b.1846 was a widower in 1886 with 3 children & resided on King St. in Wishaw Scotland. and Alexander b. 1853 in Bellshill, was a coal miner, married with 6 children. Four attending school and residing in Law Junction, Carluke. All the above info came from The Parish of Bothwell poors records.
