Find Family

* The Harvey Genealogy*

Updated September 5, 2002

I am currently trying to research my family starting with: JOHN RICHARD HARVEY, SENIOR who was born in Georgia in 1760. His wife's name was MARY (b.in North Carolina in 1763). He is buried in CEDAR CREEK CEMETARY, TAYLOR, FLORIDA. Date of death is unknown. They had two children: JOHN RICHARD HARVEY,JUNIOR (b. 1783-1787 in Richmond or Bulloch County, Goergia, d. Baker County, Florida) and ISSAC HARVEY (no information available). I am more interested in John Richard Harvey, Junior.
I have 8 generations done but cannot find any information on John Richard Harvey, Sr except that he and his brother, Charles, were awarded land in Franklin County, Georgia for their services in the Revolutionary War. They then sold this land to a Samuel Wilson. Some family members say they were killed by Indians in the Second Seminole War because about 1845 they dropped from all records. Thank you for your help.
