Batteal and Elizabeth (Scott) Harrison settled in Madison and Fayette Counties of Ohio in the early 1800's. Batteal obtained the land through his father's (Captain Benjamin Harrison) claim on a Virginia Military Land Grant through his service in the revolutionary war.
