I am doing research on the HARTMAN name. More specifically, I am looking for information on Heinrich Hartmann and his descendants. Heinrich immigrated to the new world on Sept 17, 1749 through Philadelphia, PA. One dy out at sea from America, his wife (name unknown) gave birth to twin boys: Michael Hartman amd Johann Philip Hartman. Mrs. Hartmann died in childbirth and was buried at sea. I am a descendant of Michael Hartman. Heinrich gave Michael and Philip up because he could not take of them. Michael was raised by a Lutheran family in Frederick, MD. Philip was raised by a Catholic family also in Frederick, MD. Both brothers served in the militia during the Revolutionary War in separate regiments. Michael eventually settled in Armstrong County, PA and Philip settled in Butler County, PA. Michael died on April 5, 1845. Michael and his wife Elizabeth had 12 children. Jacob Hartman was the eight child. Jacob was born on November 25, 1795 and married Mary 'Polly' Shotts. Together they had 7 children. David A. Hartman was the fourth of seven children. David's first wife was Rachel Ann (Susannah) Roley. Together they had four children. George F. Hartman was the first child. George F. HARTMAN was born in February 1855. He was married to Sarah Boyd of Armstrong Co. PA. in 1877. They lived in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. David's second wife was Susanna Armour and they had five children. I do not know their names. Can anyone help me? David was living in 1840 in Kittanning, Armstrong Co., PA. He died on 5 Apr 1845 in PA.
