This site gives an outline of part of the Hartland Family Tree in the Midlands. It is likely that the family originated from Hartland in Devon but were not so called until they arrived in south Gloucestershire. First records were in Latin which indicates some education at a time when few could read or write. Credit is due to Ian Dixon (aka Rick Kingsley) who did most of the spadework. Any information would be appreciated, and we are willing to share information that I have. |
