| I am researching the following names of early settlers in Virginia, who came from England and/or the other British Isles:Abraham Wood, Peter Jones, Thomas Chamberlayne of Gloucestershire, Thomas Batte, and Robert Middleton, and their ancestors. Abraham Wood was the first of this group to arrive in America. As a boy of ten, he arrived at Jamestown in 1620 on the ship, the Margaret and John. I'm also researching the Stephens family who came from Gloucestershire in the late 1800's, and Vincent Holecek from Lidice in Bohemia who married Mary Jelinek, also from Lidice, both of whom came to America about 1870 or '80, and who settled in Colorado. |
