James Claud and others Pay Surety for George Minick

This deed made the 21st of August 1883, between George Minick of the first part and Wm. H. Parker, Trustee of the second part, all of the County of Southampton & State of Virginia, Witnesfeth, That for and in consideration of one dollar, the party of the first part doth grant and convey with general warranty, one grey mare to him the said Trustee, party to the second part, In trust to secure the payment of the sum of one hundred dollars due to J.K. Britt, C.H Blunt, J.R. Crocker, Wm. Artist, Jas. Claud, Augustus Wiggins and Thomas Hill-in equal amount -The parties just above named having paid to the Commonwealth of Virginia, the above sum of one hundred dollars, as sureties on a Peace Bond of the said George Minick. And should the said George Minick fail to pay the said Trustee, the said sum of one hundred dollars by the 25th day of November 1883, then the said Trustee shall proceed to sell at public auction, after giving legal notice of such sale, the above described mare and apply the proceeds of same to the payment of the above debt and expenses of this Deed and cost of said sale.
