Southampton County Deed Book 48:350 James Claud Purchases Land

March 14. 1903

This deed of bargain and sale made and entered into this 14th day of Mch 1903 between Benj. E. Worrell party of the first part and James Claud party of the second part, all of the county of Southampton and state of Virginia Witnesseth that for and in consideration of Four Hundred dollars in hand paid by the said James Claud & party of the second part, to the said Benj. E. Worrell party of the first part the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged the said Benj. E. Worrell party of the first part, do grant, bargain, sell and convey with general warranty, unto the said James Claud all that certain tract or parcel of land lying in the county of Southampton and State aforesaid and containing 194 acres be the same more or less and adjoining the lands of Milly Turner, Jno. Sykes, Wm. J. Gray's est and R.S. Popes est. being the same land bought, of Wm. J. Sebrell substituted trustee Sept. 17,1894, Special reference is hereby made to said deed. This tract of land is divided into three tract one containing 48 acres, one 71 acres, one 75 acres, being the land formerly owned by R.S. Lesois To him and his heirs forever Witness the following signatures and seal this 14th day of Mch. 1903.
