| Hi Uncle Tom! Hello everyone else! I would appreciate any and all information regarding the following surnames: HARVAT / HARVATT / HARVETT - Daniel Henry Harvat and his brother Thomas Harvat came to the US in the mid 1880's and settled in central NJ (Somerset County). Thomas Harvat eventually relocated to Omaha, NE. Parents are James and Caroline Maria (KNOWLES). The 1881 British Census shows this family (along with siblings Charles and Henry) living on John Street in Kingswinford, Staffordshire, England. Daniel Henry Harvat was born February 14, 1866 (or more likely 1868!) in Brettle Lane, Staffordshire, England. Thomas Henry Harvat was born July 8, 1859 in Bewdley, Worcestershire, England. Charles Henry Harvat was born about 1862 in Bewdley, Worcestershire, England. Henry Harvat was born about 1866 in Bewdley, Worcestershire, England. Other possible older siblings not on the census are Ann Harvett, christened October 20, 1850 (recorded in Far Forest, Worcestershire, England) and William Harvatt, christened November 18, 1855 (recorded in Far Forest, Worcestershire, England). James Harvat was born about 1820 in Bewdley, Worcestershire, England. He was christened December 18, 1821 (recorded in Rock, Worcestershire, England). His parents were William Harvatt and Elizabeth. James possibly had a sibling William who was christened November 27, 1814 (recorded in Ribbesford, Worcestershire, England). James married Caroline Maria Knowles July 17, 1848 (recorded in Rock, Worcestershire, England). KNOWLES - Caroline Maria Knowles born about 1821 in Bewdley, Worcestershire, England. She was christened October 29, 1821 (recorded in Ribbesford, Worcestershire, England). Her parents were Stephen Knowles and Eleanor. She was one of at least 12 children (Drusilla, Stephen, Richard, Henry James, Selina, John, Elizabeth, Jeremiah, Ann, Mary Sophia, and Charles). MUNDY - specifically the Mundy's of Warren Township, Somerset County, NJ. Earlier decendants came from Middlesex County. GADDIS/GIDDIS - specifically the Gaddis/Giddis family of Warren Township, Somerset County, NJ. I'm willing to share any and all information I have. My goals at present are: - Finding specific information about the HARVAT / HARVATT / HARVETT (these seem to be interchangeable within records so far found) families mentioned above. Of particular interest would be death dates, cemeteries, dates of emigration, etc. - Finding information about the parents of George Gaddis/Giddis ( b.1789) in Warren Township, Somerset County, NJ. His father's name is John, but I have no other information. - Any information about Ephraim and Phebe Mundy, parents of Closson Mundy (b. abt. 1759), Enos Mundy (b. 05/25/1766), Ephraim, Isabel, and Lewis. (a researcher has suggested that the father of Ephraim is Benjamin Mundy (b. abt. 1705) son of Nicholas, son of Nicholas (all in Middlesex County, NJ). Any documentation to this would be greatly appreciated. - Any information about the parents of Charlotte Corriell (b. 1822-1824) spouse of Matthias Gaddis / Giddis, Sr. from Warren Township, Somerset County, NJ. - Any information about the parents of John H. KING (b. 01/04/1810) of Somerset County, NJ. - Other surnames in my tree: WILLIAMS, KING, HARRIS, HUTCHINS, MARTIN, KNOWLES, BILLINGHAM, WHIPERT, RICHARDS, LINBARGER, LIMBERGER, MOORE, BROWN, CORIELL, CORRIELL, CORYELL, COON, MELICK, SPENCER, SUTTON, GUNDLACH, RABOSKY, BRAND, BOSSERT, RIMMELS, GROSSKOPF. |
