He married URITH ANN LEACH 27 Mar 1846 in North Baltimore Station ME Church, Baltimore, Maryland, daughter of JAMES LEACH and CATHARINE BENNETT. She was born 19 Mar 1826 in Baltimore, Maryland (Source: Edward Everett Hargest Family Bible.), and died 13 Sep 1897 in Baltimore, Maryland.

Edward Everett Hargest's Family Bible lists Thomas' birthdate as February 14, 1824.

Thomas Hargest inherited the stone farmhouse from his father in 1843. He lived in this house until his death in 1905. During the Civil War Union troops camped on his property for several nights.It is not clear whether the Baltimore Hargests were Union or Confederate supporters. Before his death, Thomas divided his property into nine equal lots. He had his children draw a number from a hat to determine who would obtain which lot.

She married SAMUEL WALKER 12 Oct 1848 in Lovely Lane Methodist Church, son of DAVID WALKER and JANE HOLMES. He was born 04 Jul 1809 in Virginia, and died 03 Dec 1865 in Baltimore, Maryland.

Onion-Walker Family Bible "Married on Thursday evening October 12th 1848 by the Rev'd J.W. Cullum Samuel Walker to Hannah Ann , third daughter of James and Hannah Hargest deceased."

1846 Tax Records indicate that Hannan Hargest made improvements to a 1 1/2 story white frame house on the north side of Point Lane and Harford Ave.
