He married (1) ELIZABETH HARGEST 13 May 1829 in First Methodist Episcopal Church (St. Paul and 22nd. Street)Baltimore, Maryland, daughter of JAMES HARGEST and HANNAH EVANS. She was born 09 Dec 1811 in Baltimore, Maryland, and died 17 Oct 1832 in Baltimore, Maryland. He married (2) ELIZABETH SMITH 18 Dec 1834 in First Methodist Episcopal Church in Baltimore Town (St. Paul and 22nd Street) (Source: International Genealogical Index.). She was born 1814 in Herefordshire, England, and died 27 Oct 1836 in Baltimore (Source: Baltimore Sun.). He married (3) JANE CARRUTHERS 01 Nov 1838, daughter of ANDREW CARRUTHERS and ISABELLA NOBLE. She was born 23 Aug 1819 in Baltimore, and died 29 Feb 1908 in Baltimore, Maryland.

John Ogier's second wife was a cousin of Elizabeth Hargest. She died without children. His third wife was Jane Carruthers.

They lived on a large farm east of Broadway and south of Chase Streets at Monument and Patterson Park Avenues where their children were born. The house was next to the Baptist Church which was torn down for a filling station.

James Hargest Ogier and wife Margaret Branham visited the old house at Monument St. and Loney's Lane in the fall of 1870 and had supper from the fine old dishes that had belonged to Elizabeth Hargest Ogier. They said the supper was well served, the place well cared for and the terraced garden was beautiful.

Elizabeth Smith was a cousin of Elizabeth Hargest. She came to Baltimore from England to live with her Aunt Hannah Ann Evans Hargest when her parents died. She was the second wife of John Ogier and died without children.
