Marriage Notes for MEREDITH HARLEY and DONALD INSERRA:
Meredith and Paul were married around 3:00PM in the back yard of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Emile Harley,III, of 5103 Springwood Drive. The yard was decorated with a hundnred white and lavender "mums" and a lattice arch that was decorated with silk gardenias, ivy, white tulle, and bows of "Flower of Scotland" tartan ribbon. This same decor was on the white tents set up (in case of rain) under which ten long tables were placed, with seating for a hundred guests. We danced to the music of a D.J., Mr. Chuck Kolb, and the Bar was tended by Ms. Sandy Smith, a bartender from the local Country Club. The menu of candied yams, coleslaw, herbed rice, strlngbeans amandine, and yeast rolls was catered by CATERED AFFAIR, and the meat offering, pork and chicken, was cooked by Melvin Gardner from Newport. The bridal cake was made by LAURA'S CAKES, and Laura, herself, came to put the finishing touches on it just before the guests arrived. Most of the decorations were done by Margaret Volney and her daughter, "Boo". The electrical work was handled by Paul Inserra, the groom to be, who managed to string tiny white lights in all of the bushes and trees in the back yard. Someone said it looked like a movie set. Those that attended were Mr. and Mrs. Mac R. Harley and daughter Laura, from Charleston,SC. Mrs. Jaudon Piper with daughter, Susan Getnitski and son Mike, and Jaudon's son, Robbie with his wife, Peggy, all from Augusta, GA. Also an old friend Roz O'Rear from Atlanta,GA, Scott Perkins from Atlanta,GA, Rev. Rick and Mr. Cindy Cloud from Reston,LA with their two daughters.
