Marriage Notes for Jabez Harrison and Elizabeth Taylor:
JABEZ & ELIZABETH TAYLOR HARRISON emigrated to Wayne County, Indiana, 1828 or 1830, remaining there five years, moving to Fayette County, Indiana, where they both died. The 1840 census lists them in Waterloo Twp. with 1 male child under 5 years, 1 male child between 5-10 years, 1 male child between 10-15 years, 2 males between 15-20 years, 2 males between 20-30 years, 1 male between 30-40 years; 2 females under 5 years, 2 females between 5-10 years, and 1 female between 30-40 years.

Wayne County, Indiana Deed Books, JABEZ HARRISON, bought from David Camblin November 10, 1831, 80 acres in N.1/2 S.E. Sec. 17, Twp. 15, Range 13, Washington Twp., for $400.00; in August 5, 1833 he bought from Garner Laben (or Laben Garner) 102,50 acres for $75.00; January 29, 1838 (he is listed as from Fayette County) he bought of William Taylor and wife Jane, 110 acres for $1200.00, these last two tracts were also in Sec. 17, Twp. 15, Range 13. On the 8 Feb. 1841 is recorded the sale by JABEZ HARRISON & WIFE ELIZABETH of Fayette Co., Ind. of 52.50 acres of the above land to William Beck for $2000.00; on 28 May 1842 they sold to John Fox 60 acres for $1600.00; on 30 December 1844 they sold to Thornton Burrough for $2062.50, 82.50 acres, thus disposing of all the land they had acquired in Wayne County, Ind.

7. Jabez E.

Several accounts say there were eight children, when Jabez Harrison died his estate was valued at $10,000 but by the time his wife died two years later it had dwindled to $3,000. At the November term of Court in 1846, Wesley H. Harrison was appointed guardian for his younger brothers and sisters: James R., Sarah E., Asbury C., Martha M., and Jabez E., later he asked to be relieved of the guardianship. (February, 1947?)

Their estate was probated in Fayette Co., Indiana, Record Book B-1, Nov. Term 1846, pg. 428; Feb. 26, 1849. Also Ref. "History of Preble Co., Ohio 1883, pg. 231.
