according to the 1870 Census - the Keegan family now had 2 children, Margaret & Patrick and were living in Elkhart City, IL. The value of their estate was $1000 and personal estate was $200. (I think this means what they actually owned, not borrowed). Joseph was a laborer and Bridget kept house. He could not read or write, but Bridget could.
