Notes for Edwin Dwight Ball: Note on occupation: 1930 Mt. Pleasant City Directory lists Edward D. Ball as a night policeman in 1930. Family stories have it that all the Ball boys were very tall and stout. When Ed became a policeman in Mt. Pleasant, he was known as, "Big Ed Ball, the cop" and is still remembered by that description by the old-timers.
Buried in Riverview Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant under "Ed Ball," not Edwin, as he was commonly called Ed. Headstone also states his death date as 1879, which is the agreed date family members use, regardless of any census reports to the contrary.
Note on children: There may be one additional child born to Edwin Ball and Agnes Gleason named Thomas (Tom).
