  This is a parlor photo of great uncle Jack and aunt Bell Harnett who lived next door to grandfather at Lord's Cove. The original is held by Wayne Slaney in Marystown.

  On 18 February 1942, POLLUX and TRUXTON grounded during a storm off St. Lawrence Harbor, Newfoundland at Lawn Point and Chambers Cove respectively, and were lost. The survivors owed their rescue in large measure to the tireless, efficient and in many cases, heroic action of the local people.

• Building of St. Elizabeth's, Lord's Cove, 1948 (35 KB)
  St. Elizabeth's Roman Catholic Church at Lord's Cove built in 1948. Some of the men who donated their time are seen here. On the ladders are Cecil Fitzpatrick, John Andrew Harnett and on the right ladder Sam Lambe. Standing are Anthony Lambe, Clem Harnett, John Fitzpatrick Clem Fitzpatrick, (unidentified head), Rob Lambe, Thomas Hodge, Clotaire Isaacs, Richard Kirby, Don Edwards(Lawn).   This is a copy of a photo taken of great aunts Kate and Lucy Harnett(The Twins) taken about 1897. I received my copy from Leona Fitzpatrick, who is aunt Kate's grandaughter.

  This is a photo of Lord's Cove looking west from about the area of Thomas Hodge's house. The portion of the community which is out of view to the right is the area along the main highway, referred to in bygone years as the back road.

  This is a print of the oval which hung in grandfather's office until the business closed. It is presently held by Brendan in Surrey, BC. It is believed to be our gggrandfather who came to Newfoundland circa 1817

  Sandy Cove is the place many people from Lord's Cove & Lawn went for recreation. Sandy Cove had liviers until 1922 when the last two people, uncle Joe and aunt Maggie Fitzpatrick, moved to Lord's Cove. This photo was taken by Rene Herlidan of Lord's Cove.

  The older couple is great uncle Mick and aunt Ellen Harnett, taken abt 1918. The young woman standing is their daughter, Effie Maude. The youngest girl is Charlotte Herlidan who was 5. If you know the other child please contact me.
