Obituary Born September 23, 1833 Balden County, North Carolina Died November 15, 1905 Piketon, Scott County, Mississippi Death of Mrs. Singleton Mrs. Nepsa Singleton Wife of the late D.A. Singleton died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sally Hunt at Piketon on last Wednesday, November 15. Since the death of her husband, her health had been failing, and her advanced age and her grief caused nervosa prostration, from which she could not Rally for more than 30 years she had lived in Scott County ( Mississippi). Mrs. Singleton was born September 23, 1833 in Bladen Co. North Carolina married in 1858, and came to Scott County in 1860. Thereafter she united with Hays Creek Baptist Church. Later she moved to within 4 miles of Forest and in the organization of Liberty Church, she moved her membership there, and remained a consistent member until her death. She was the mother of nine children. The seven surviving her are Mrs. D. Sims. Mrs. Joe Hunt, Mrs.W. A. Abbett, James, William, Otho R., and Asa. All of whom live in this county with the exception of James, whose home is in Houston, Texas. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. Z.T. Faulker and the remains were interred in Liberty graveyard. She was a devoted mother and a god friend, who filled her allotted duties in life quietly.
