Capt. George Symes (son of Esquire Thomas Symes and Amy Bridges) was born Abt. 1643 in Winterboure, Gloucester County, England, and died 1687 in Isle of Antigua, British West Indies. He married Dorothy Everard.

1672 Goerge settled in Antigua in the British West Indies and in 1681 was granted 200 acres in Antigua. He left little estate to his children with brother Henry Symes and other guardians.
