To my son Henry, 1000 Pounds To my son Robert, 500 Pounds To my son William 500 pounds at age 21 or marriage To my daughter Margaret 1000 pounds at age 21 or marriage To my daughter Margery Payne 100 Marks To Jasper Payne, my son-in-law living in Charde, my Manor of Barwick, Bowre and Stoford, County Somerset and Frank Ham, County Dorset, mill in West Corker and lands in Taunton. To my wife, Elizabeth, my manor house In Charde for her life and to be executrix. John Payne, Esq., Roger Hill, Gent and my brother-in law Hugh Hill to be Supervisors.
His personal estate was huge and upon his death he donated on to the town ofto be used as the first public school. It was used as a school until recently and is still standing in Clarde today.
William married (1) Agnes Colendon; married (2) Alice Clark; and then married (3) Elizabeth Hill.
