May Ten 1871
I Truman Harrington of the County of Wilson State of Tennessee make this my last will & testament.
First I ask that my funeral expenses be paid out of any money on hand at the time of my death.
Second I give device and bequeath all my estate & property real & personal legal & equitable of every description whatsoever to my beloved wife Elizabeth for and during her natural life.
Third It is my will that all my just debts be paid and that my beloved wife Elizabeth in consideration of the legacy bequest and device above made to her assume the payment of the same & to move certainly secure this and it is my will that at my death none of original property be sold for the payment of debts but that the same _____ so my beloved wife as above provided & that she as such legates successor executrix carry on & continue the business now conducted by me in family groceries, confectioneries, and liqueurs that she pay off my just debts as fast as possible. I request and recommend that she take as a partner in said business James R. Stokes.
Forth I hereby nominate rapport my beloved wife Elizabeth executrix of this my last will and testament in witness wheresofar I have signed by making my mark & sealed & published and declared this instrument as my last will and testament. This March 29, 1871.
