"MAYHEWS MEET - The Mayhew Reunion was held on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2000, at Stony Point United Methodist Church. The morning message was brought by the Rev. Carline Brown. A potluck lunch was enjoyed by all in attendance. The plaque for the "Most Miles Traveled" was awarded to Margo Sue Mayhew Etter of Houston, Texas and Sherri Mayhew Dean of Palestine, Texas. The plaque for the "Largest Family" was awarded to Betty Mayhew Wetzel. The plaque for "Oldest" Mayhew descendant was awarded to Austin Cooke, son of Janet Cooke. Plans are already in progress for the next Mayhew Reunion that will be held the Sunday before Labor Day in 2003."
