This is a photo of my great-grandfather, Walker Dix Williams. He was born 11 Mar 1876 in Montgomery Co., KY. He died 28 Jan 1946 in Louisville, KY. He married Maud Alzora Gudgel 5 Oct 1899.

Standing in the back is Pearlie (Kennedy) Mayhew, Elizabeth's daughter. The child is thought to be one of Pearlie's daughters. This is a great picture showing four generations.

"MAYHEWS MEET - The Mayhew Reunion was held on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2000, at Stony Point United Methodist Church. The morning message was brought by the Rev. Carline Brown. A potluck lunch was enjoyed by all in attendance. The plaque for the "Most Miles Traveled" was awarded to Margo Sue Mayhew Etter of Houston, Texas and Sherri Mayhew Dean of Palestine, Texas. The plaque for the "Largest Family" was awarded to Betty Mayhew Wetzel. The plaque for "Oldest" Mayhew descendant was awarded to Austin Cooke, son of Janet Cooke. Plans are already in progress for the next Mayhew Reunion that will be held the Sunday before Labor Day in 2003."

My grandfather, Ssgt. Oscar Henry Harrington, was in the 83rd Infantry Division known as the Thunderbolt. He was in F Co. 329th Regt. during WWII. He was KIA in Barby, Germany on Friday, April 13, 1945. He was awarded the Purple Heart. My grandmother, Lila Grey (Kennedy) Harrington, later in life married George Anthony Collins.

Letter written by William Gudgel to his father, Elijah Gudgel, on November 9, 1864, during the Civil War. William was a CSA Teamster in Co. G 6th Kentucky Infantry, known today as the Orphan Brigade. "Elijah" mentioned in the letter is William Gudgel's brother who was in the CSA Co. H 5th Kentucky Regt. Cavalry.

Alfus is my great-grandunlce who made chocolates, fudge, peanut brittle, coconut brittle, and lemon drops. The sign on his wagon reads, "A. T. Harrington & Co., Assortment of Port Candies." The next line is unreadable. "The Best Possible."
