| I am researching Harlan's of Lawrence County Pa. Particularly the ancestors and decendants of Jonathan Harlan b.1755 in Chester Co. Pa. d. June, 1841 in Scott Twp., Lawrence Co. Pa. Married Abigail (Harlan) McCall 10-24-1781 in Wilmington, Del. she died there 10-13-1790. Jonathan remarried Elizabeth Fawcett about 1790 and left Chester Co. for what is now Allegheny Co. in 1792 and resided there until 1797. He Then settled in Scott Twp. Lawrence Co., Pa. upon 400 acres which included the present site of Harlansburg. Jonathan had three children by his first wife and eight by his second. His son Jonathan b. 1796 had son Jonathan b. 1819 who had a son John b.7-5-1850. John was my great grandfather and married Mary Lucy Durbin b. 2-25-1873.
