Notes for William Rufus Haynes: Lived with his parents after marriage for 11 years until after his father died. Rufus went to a fortune teller in GA and she said "you are going to make a change. You are going to go west and you are going to do well." They did in fact move to Texas and did well by the standards of the time. They traveled to Texas via a train from GA in 1900 (John David was a baby). Claudia's brothers were already there. They traveled with three small children. After they moved to Texas Claudia's parents moved to Texas also. They only returned to GA once when Dera was small. They went to visit a friend by the name of Morgan (Powell) (or was this Morgan Haynes, Marlin's son) who they talked into moving to Texas, but he didn't stay and moved to AL. He had a daughter Fanny Powell who Claudia was friends with and who never married. Claudia and Fanny wrote letters until she died.
