Mary Wells Concealed 27 yards of printed Callico under her cloak and left the shop of James Robson, Linen draper, Parish of St Peter the little, York. James Robson followed Mary Wells into the street and apprehended her. Mary Wells stood trial the 5/11/1791, found guilty and sentenced to 7 years transportation.
