Simon Freebody (son of Simon Clarkson Freebody and Mary Ann Wells) was born 1799 in Windsor, New South Wales, and died 22 October 1878 in Buckley's Crossing, Bolairo. He married Susannah Miles on 19 June 1820 in St Luke's C of E, Liverpool Sydney New South Wales, daughter of Edward Miles and Susannah Smith.

Simon came to Manaro, NSW with his wife and family. They had 11 children, but 2 died as infants. Simon had the Seymore Inn which was burnt down in June 1864 and a gold digger lost his life in the fire.
