George Bowerman (b. 29 April 1791, d. 22 December 1820)
George Bowerman (son of Jonathon Bowerman and Martha Alder) was born 29 April 1791 in Charlbury, Oxfordshire, England, and died 22 December 1820 in Sydney, New South Wales. He married Mary A Partridge on 20 June 1814 in St Johns, Parramatta, Sydney, New South Wales, daughter of Richard Partridge and Mary Greenwood.
Notes for George Bowerman: 8/3/1809 at the age of 17 years at Oxford Lent Assize he was sentenced to death for breaking and entering two houses in the Henley area. His sentence was commuted to transportation for life and the following year he arrived in Sydney Australia on the 16/12/1810 aboard the "Indian" as a convict with his accomplice Samuel Franklin.
Was hung in 1820 with his 2 brothers James and Solomon for highway robbery, it was later admitted by another robber that George had been innocent.
