James Lacon Beard (son of Isaac Beard and Margaret "Susannah" Reece) was born Abt. 1819 in Broseley, Shropshire, England, and died 21 January 1901 in Bushley Queensland Central Railway, Rockhampton, Australia. He married Mary Ann Salt on 25 March 1839 in Parish Church, Madeley, Shropshire, England, daughter of William Salt and Jane Jones.
