Hd Qrs Silvies River Expedition

Camp Wright Ogn Jan. 2, 1866

Sir,

I have the honor to make the following report of a trip to Camp Currey. In pursuance of S.O. No 17 Hd Qrs Silvies River Expedition dated Dec 28 1865, I left Camp Wright on same day in command of a detachment of five men of H Co. 1st Ogn Inf as an escort to the pack train enroute to Camp Currey. On night of the 29th I made camp on (Silver Creek or Silvies Creek) about 12 miles before Camp Currey and in consequence of two of the men having their feet badly frozen, and they were unable to travel further. I remained in Camp at the place with the men while the train proceeded to Camp Currey without the escort, the train returned to our camp on Dec 31 1865 and Jan 1 1866 I set out with the train and arrived at Camp Wright with the Detachment on the night of Jan 2 1866
