Notes for Willis Headley: Believed to have come to Autauga Co., AL with his father Charles Headley, one of the 5 Headley brothers to come to Ala. in the mid-1800s from Darlington Co., SC
Willis died at a young age some time after the 1850 census. He was in his mid-to late 20s. His death put financial hardships on Jane R. (Unknown last name). She was no longer able to care for her 3 children, Martha Ann, Mary J., and Caleb Nelson Headley.
A legal document in Shelby County shows the following:
Martha Ann and Caleb Nelson Headley were bound out to James Huckabee (Huckaby?).
Mary J. was bound out to Philip Coker.
