2. GEORGE2 HEAP (JOHN1) was born Abt. 1715 in Philadelphia, Penn, and died Abt. December 23, 1752 in Reedy Island near New Castle, Penn. He married (1) MARY CLASSON 1738. He married (2) MARY JACOBS 1746. She was born Unknown.

EORGE HEAP:
Had three children by Mary Classon. Widowed 1745. Married Mary Jacobs the following year. Had seven children, four died in infancy. Bought 100 acres in Philadelphia, County March10, 1744. Elected Philadelphia County Coroner, Oct. 1749. Reelected Coroner, October 1751. Was assistant surveyor-general of the Province of Pennsylvania,map maker, map seller who drew important early views of Philadelphia, the so calle Scull-Heap East Prospect of the City of Philadelphia , with Nicholas Scull.

The production of the "East Prospect..." killed George Heap. He completed the drawing of the view in September 152 and set out a few days after November 30, 1752 for England to have it engraved for publication. During the first days of the voyage, Heap "was seized with a pain in his head and died at Reedy Island a few miles below New Castle on the Delaware". His remains were buried at Christ Church, Philadelphia, the day after Christmas, 1752.
