Last Will and Testament of Jacob Houck

In the name of God Amen I Jacob Houck of the township of Union in the County of Huntingdon State of Pennsylvania human being in perfect health of body and of sound mind memory and understanding (Blessed be God for the same) but considering the uncertainty of life do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say first I commit my soul to God who gave it and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent and Christian like manner. Secondly I give and bequeath to my oldest son Samuel Houck his heirs and apigns all that tract piece of parcel of land lying and being in Union township on which he the said Samuel Houck now resides. Thirdly I give and bequeath unto my second son Sollomon Houck his heirs and apigns all that tract piece of parcel of land lying and bieng in Fairfield County State of Ohio on which he the said Sollomon Houck resides. I will and direct that after my decease my personal estate and matters excepting two cows two beds and the household and kitchen furniture shall be sold out of the moneys receiving from such sale my just debts as shall be by me owing at my death together with my funeral expenses and all charges touching the proving of or otherwise concerning this my Will shall in the frst place be fully paid and satisfied and the remainder of the money arising form the sale of my personal estate shall be divided into into five equal shares one equal share there of I will and bequeath unto my youngest son Johnsey Houck and the remaining four equal shares I will and bequeath unto my four daughters Rachel Sarah Mary and Elenor to be divided amongst them share and share alike and lastly I will and bequeath unto my beloved wife Hannah Houck two milk cows two beds and my household and kitchen furniture and also the rents of the farm we live on which is one fourth of the house we live in during her life I further will and direct that after the decease of my wife Hannah the remaining part of my real estate shall be sold and out of the moneys arising form the sale there of two hundred dollars shall be paid unto my youngest son Johnsey Houck which two hundred dollars I give him and the use of my farm so long as he chooses to occupy it or shares of one fourth as a compensation frt the offices of kindship me and my wife are receiving of him and expect to receive and also as a compensation to him for raking care of us whilst we live and as to the remaing part of the moneys arising fom the sale of my real estate I will that after my excecutor has received a compensation for his trouble the residence shall be divided into five eaqual shares one eaquall part there of I will and bequeath unto my youngest son Johnsey Houck and the four remaining parts I will and bequeath unto my four daughters Rachel Sarah Mary and Elenor to be divided equally amongst them share and share alike further it is my express will and meaning that my wife Hannah shall shall receive the rents arising from my farm that is shares of one fourth as before specified in lieu of her dower lastly I appoint and constitute my eldest son Samuel Houck executor of the my will and testament herby revoking all former wills by me made I witness where of I have here unto set my hand and seal the tenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty four.
