Janet Lee Headrick 6638 Waconda Point Road Harrison,Tennessee 37341-9581 423-344-6206 | My mother,Daisylee Jones White was a member of DAR based on her Father's linage to Brig General William Lee Davidson who was killed at the battle of Cowan's Ford, NC in 1781. She was killed in an automobile crash in 1971 in Tn. I was married in Nashville,TN in 1959 although I had grown up in the midwest(Mo.,Ill, & Wisc)and discovered that Margaret Davidson was married there in 1793 and the county was named after her fatherBrig.General Davidson. Margaret married Finis Ewing who was one of three founders of the Cumberland Presbyterian, also taking place in Tennessee. My mother was born and raised in Texas and had a brother named Ewing and the family name of Lee has been carried through the generations. I'm trying to find out more about the Davidson,Ewing,Jones, and Sloan families to fill in the blanks. There is suppose to be a Wm.Davidson Ewing that was temp. Gov. of Illinois when capital was in Vandalia.I'm also looking into my husbands family-HEADRICK- that came to Morgan County,TN in the 1800's from Germany and Austria |
