Notes for Lord Haggard:
[Brderbund WFT Vol. 5, Ed. 1, Tree #1510, Date of Import: Aug 28, 19 97]
David D. Haggard's book which was published in 1899 indicates that w e are probably descendants of a Sir Andrew Ogard (Haggard), Knight, o f Bradenham Castle, County Norfolk, who settled in England and was na turalized, Henry VI. (1433). Sir Andrew was apparently from a distin guished family in Denmark where the name could still be found in 1899.
Just how James Haggard, who came to America, was related to the Hagga rds in England is not clear. It is believed that James' father was a n English Lord and since James was born about 1678, Lord Haggard woul d have been born in the 1650's or earlier.
