User Home Pages: The Headleys of the Northern Neck of Virginia
I and several of my cousins have been researching the Headleys of the Northern Neck family history, beginning with John Headley, bef 1660. The Northern Neck is a penisula located in the eastern part of Virginia between the Rappahannock and Potomac rivers, which flow into the Chesapeake Bay. This is a unique area of Virginia. Surrounded on three sides by water,it was predominately isolated from the rest of Virginia, and accessible mostly by water in the early formative years of our nation. It is the birthplace of George Washington and Robert E. Lee, among a few notables. | The Headleys of the Northern Neck of Virginia Updated September 5, 2000 |
