Gann Girls Geneology Since I have just started this web page these are the only Surnames I have so far. More will be added later. Gann, Adams, Bell, Mink, Kester, Simmons, Quigley, Dixon I am currently searching for information onthe Ganns in my family. John Gann dob:5-1-1814 m. Sally Ann Adams, their son John Ivan Gann dob:2-26-1849 m. Martha A. Crossland or Bell?, their son Ado Connie Gann dob:1882 m. Emma or Emmie Mink, their children, daughter Dora Etta Gann dob:8-11-1913 and son Robert Roy Gann dob:11-5-1921. Robert Roy Gann was my grandfather. Since I have little contact with the Gann side of my family, I know very little about my grandfathers past. So far all I know is that Ado Gann came from Illinoise and that his parents were from Tenn. Ado moved to Pulaski, Mo around the turn of the century. He told his son Robert there was a family fued over his parents land (in or around Vienna, Illinoise) when they died and someone in the family was killed. After that the family split up. I'm not sure when he married Emma but I have a postcard he sent to her in 1910 when she was still a Mink. His wife died around 1926 and he had another son that died in 1928, when my grandfather was 7. My grandfather said that Ado beat his brother to death, soon after that he abandoned Robert. Ado returned to Roberts house in the 1940's where he lived until he died. Noone knows where he went or if he had another family during the time he was gone. There is also some Native American blood in my family. Most of the male members of the Gann family have distintive indian features. My aunt thinks it is Blackfoot. I haven't been able to find out any information on who the indian in the family was. It may have been Emma but since I haven't been able to find any information on her other than a picture I don't know for sure. | Gann Family of MO Updated September 5, 2000 |
