This is Frederick Oxbury possibly in the field behind Sparrow Park Cottage at New Marske where he and Alice lived. The field would have been part of Sparrow Park Farm which was linked to the cottage. The farm is still there today (May 2003). The cottage was demolished due to it being unsafe some years back. "The Yorkshire Lass" public house was built on it's foundations. The cottage was also known as "Pear tree cottage" and a few yards down from "The Yorkshire Lass" Flats have been erected and called "Pear Tree Court". There were rumours in the 1980's that the pub was haunted by Alice and had been seen not just inside the Pub but walking across the fields belonging to "Sparrow Park Farm" too.
