from "Seale and Allied Families" by Ida Carrie Seale - on 10-25-1857, he (Daniel) wrote a letter to his nephew, Andrew Jackson Seale, concerning various members of the family and ended by saying that he was feeble and hands shook too badly for much writing.

1860 federal census Choctaw County Mississippi - Lodi township - #982/945 - Daniel, age 83; Sallie, age 60? (should have been 50)

Declaration for a Pension - War of 1812 - made 17 July 1871 - says Daniel was a 2nd sergeant in Capt. William Spencer's Company - 13th Regiment, Colonel Nixon's Brigade - that he received bounty land and was discharged at Columbus, Mississippi in 1815. Willis Barfield and A.M. Powell, witnesses. Pension claim rejected 29 July 1872 by reason of insufficient service. (31 days) Served from 8 January 1815 to 7 February 1815.
